Athens Capital Suites

The Athens Capital Hotel Annex, part of the MGallery Collection, transforms a 1938 heritage‑listed residential building on Zalokosta Street into contemporary hospitality suites. The design draws from the building’s transitional identity between Athenian mid‑war urban architecture and the emerging Bauhaus movement, preserving crafted neoclassical details while introducing modernist clarity and functional simplicity.

Compartmentalised residential layouts were reconfigured into open, flexible hospitality spaces, resulting in 19 new suites and residences across 11 distinct typologies, each offering a unique spatial experience. The project also includes a Traveller’s Club‑style private lounge and Gym/Spa facilities on the lower ground level.

Conceived as a holistic transformation, the project spans new layouts, interior architecture, and curated art selections. Interiors blend restored decorative elements with Bauhaus‑inspired detailing, while design‑master furniture, carefully curated decorative lighting, and selected vintage pieces introduce warmth, tactility, and individuality — giving each room its own soul and a true home‑away‑from‑home atmosphere.

The project exemplifies how Greece’s architectural legacy can be thoughtfully reshaped to meet the needs of modern hospitality.
